My first class

Not sure how to start? Here is everything you need - how to book, what to bring and where we meet. Everyone is truly welcome at my classes.

My First Class

What I want you to know before class

It is never too late to try something new and start working on your fitness, strength, and flexibility.

Coming to your first Jumping, Dance into Shape, or Contemporary dance class and wondering what to expect? Don't worry at all! We all have to start somewhere, and my priority is to make you feel welcome right from the start. I’ve created a quick guide to walk you through how to book your spot, what to pack in your gym bag, and where exactly to go.

  • Wear whatever feels good. Come in clothes that make you feel the most comfortable and free to move. It’s not about looking perfect, and it’s certainly not about wearing the newest designer activewear.
  • Don't stress about how you look while exercising. The mirrors in the studio aren't there for judgement, but to help you connect with your own body.
  • Give yourself time. Be patient with yourself and your body. You don’t have to master everything on your first try. Everyone has to start somewhere!
  • Please don't compare yourself to others. We are all unique, and everyone’s maximum looks completely different. And that is exactly how it should be.
  • Don't forget your water! Keep your body hydrated before, during, and after the workout.
  • Be proud of yourself! Celebrate every single step forward, no matter how small. And give yourself the biggest round of applause on the days when you really didn't want to go, but you pushed through and showed up anyway!

First lesson guide

How booking your first lesson works step by step

You don't need any prior experience or a perfect fitness level to join us. Just bring your desire to move! My classes are a completely judgement-free zone where comparison simply doesn't exist. We all had to start somewhere, and while taking that first step into the unknown can be a challenge, absolutely everyone is welcome here, exactly as they are.

Tips for beginners

My first class

A few final tips

Book a class
  • Comfortable clothes and shoes

Bring sportswear that makes you feel free to move, and clean indoor athletic shoes (for Contemporary dance we go barefoot or in socks).

  • Stay hydrated

Don't forget a water bottle and a towel. Keep your body hydrated before, during, and after the workout.

  • Arrive 10 minutes early

You'll have plenty of time to change, get familiar with the space, and take a deep breath before we start.

  • Don't be shy

Make sure to tell me before class that it's your first time! I'll gladly explain the basics and help you get set up.

  • Listen to your body

Move at your own pace and within your own limits. Don't push yourself too hard on your first day — remember, everyone has to start somewhere!

  • Avoid heavy meals

I recommend avoiding heavy meals about two hours before your workout so you don't feel unwell while jumping or dancing.
